Why does eating a diet based on No Carb Foods help us to lose weight? Many researchers think it has do with how are bodies have evolved over time and the diets that were available to us. Farming has not been around that long compared to mankind so our ancestors had to be eating something and is seems most of what they ate was meat based. Generally meat has zero carbohydrates and so naturally these people ate no carb meals on a daily basis. After many years, out bodies learned how to process the meat in an efficient manner for survival.
No carb recipes almost always involve meat and cooking oil because it is the food that contains zero or very low carbohydrates. Compare this to meals based on sugar and bread which can easily contain hundreds. For example, an apple pie contains about 360 grams of carbs. If you cut the pie into 6 pieces that means each piece is going to have about 60 grams of carbs. Most weight loss diets based on limiting carbohydrates recommend 40 to 60 grams of carbohydrates a day. So you can have one piece of apple pie and that is it.
No Carb Food
Pie would not be a good snack if you are trying to lose weight with a no carb food diet. Instead, maybe have a no carb snack of sausage links or Vienna sausages. The links would be easy to prepare before hand and store in the refrigerator. Then, when it is snack time, you could dip a few links in prepared yellow mustard. Yellow mustard also has zero grams of carbohydrates. I have found that the mustard really helps to take the huger pangs away with the vinegar and spices it contains. You could do the same with Vienna sausages that come in a can and really are not too expensive.
Eggs are always a good no carbohydrate foods choice. I use what I call “fake eggs” the ones that come in a box you pour into the pan. These are basically egg whites with the yolks separated out. The yolk is what contains the cholesterol so if this is a concern for you buy the fake eggs and use them for all your cooking. I chunk up a piece of beef and heat this in a pan first. You can use cooking oil because it another no carb food. Once the pan and meat is hot I pour on some of the egg mixture and scramble it all up. The beef gives it some texture and with a little seasoning you have a filling meal.
As I said above, almost all no carb recipes are going to include meat of some kind. But don’t forget fishes as they can also be low or no carb. Flounder, sole and tuna are all good if you are counting carbs. I get the tuna packed in water just because of the calories but you can also get it packed in oil if you are only worried about dieting by limiting your carbs.
The key to a no carb diet is to vary what you are eating. The problem most people have is they get bored with their diet because they try to eat the same thing all the time. Maybe they get started on beef and that is all they eat. Or maybe it is chicken or turkey. If you want to limit the grams of carbohydrates you take in each day you must vary the foods eaten or you will get bored and start stuffing yourself with high carbohydrate foods like bread and sugar.
